I took my dog up Mueller park thinking I could run up to elephant rock.  Way too much ice on the road.  Long segments of the road where covered over in thick ice as if a river was flowing over the road and froze over.  I fell on my bum numerous times, which I'm sure my dog was laughing at me in his own way.  I need to get some of those "crampons" for running shoes.  I think they have them at the Salt Lake Running Company.  Ended up taking the Kelly Falls trail thats on the south side of a hill that is relatively free of ice and snow.  Beauatiful day to be outside.

Easy run in a beautiful day.  I threw in some accelerations here and there just to keep it interesting.

Ran outside for lunch.  Headed out to Liberty Park and did a couple laps and headed back.  I can't believe the weather.  I was overdressed and needed to peel a layer off after a couple of miles.  Feeling the warmth of the sun on my face was awesome.

May do a few more miles after work depending if I can wrap things up by 5:30 - 6:00.

The smog is starting to get to me.  My eyes and back of my throat are irritated from the noon run.  It looks like we will get some relief on Friday, just in time for the long run on Saturday.

Liberty Park loop: 7.2 miles

TM: 2.8

Liberty Park is a nice place to run. Looks like you've got a great lunch run routine going.

TM miles.  Too smoggy to run outside.  TM run was boring and I had to pick up the pace to just to break up the monotony.

Got up at 6 am hoping that it wasn't snowing and I could run outside.  Not to be.  After shoveling the driveway (about 8 inches) I headed to the gym and got the run done on the TM.  When I got back home I had to shovel the driveway again.  I shouldn't complain, we really need the snow.

Jog/Hile up the canyon in the snow with Tommie (dog).  Beautiful day but tiring.  We had to cut the trail in about a foot of snow.

I had acid reflux all day.  I'm not sure what I ate but it did a number on me.  The burning would just get continuously worse as I ran.  Had to call it quits after two miles.  I was very upset since I had been looking forward to the run all day.

7 miles in the morning and 7 miles after work.  Kept it at an easy pace for both runs and threw some 800s in during the evening run just for the fun of it.

Nice double today. Keep on pounding! Your run in the snow the other day with your dog sounds like it was a blast.

TM run ("sweat mill").  Hoping the guck in the air blows out of the valley soon.  I was on the top floor of the Wells Fargo building today in one of the board rooms overlooking the valley towards the mountains or at least you can see them when the air is relatively clean.  No such luck today.

TM miles in the morning.  Will likely do another 5 after work.  I'll be traveling on Friday and Saturday so I'm not sure I'll be getting a long run in.

After work I ran a 5 mile progression run.  I progressed from very very slow, to very slow, to slow, to kinda slow.

On the TM while I watched the Olympic Trials.  Great races for both the women and men.  I always feel so bad for the fourth place finishers.  All that work...

Cycling 1:33.  Road in SLC through U of U campus, up to Emmigration Canyon, and down into Holiday.  A little windy but otherwise perfect weather.

Got the run in early in the morning, before the snow started to come down.  Feeling a little tired, which is probably due to the bike ride yesterday.  I haven't used my "cycling" muscles in a while and I could tell.

6 around 3:30 pm.  Managed to miss the snow on both runs.  Only went in to the office for 4 hours today.  That is about the right work to work out ratio for me 2:1.  Unfortunately its a ratio I rarely meet.   Its usually 4:1 or 8:1, which really sucks.

It's not often you can get a ride in like that the middle of January. I couldn't get out of the TV room, lol.

I was not looking forward to todays run.  I was tired and a little burned out from work.  I just wanted to get home and unwind.  I forced myself to the gym and onto the TM.  The first 3 to 4 miles were rough but last few miles I felt relaxed and the miles came easy.  Glad I didn't wimp out today.

I got home all excited about buying tickets for Mike Birbiglia’s My Girlfriend’s Boyfriend at Kingsbury Hall for this Friday night and its all sold out.  Thats what I get for procrastinating! If anyone wants to unload some tickets let me know.

Easy run outside.  Ran out to Liberty Park at and did a few laps.  Legs felt OK but cardio felt tired.  I'll take Friday off and run my long on Saturday.
